The Reconciliation

Imam W. Deen Muhammad

With the Name Allah (In the Name of God),   the Gracious, the Compassionate

As-Salaam-Alaikum

All praise is due to Almighty God, the guardian evolver and sustainer of all the worlds. The blessings and peace be upon Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah to us all.

O Allah, guide us, forgive us our faults, and grant us the blessings of faith. I bear witness there is no deity except Allah and I bear witness Muhammad is His Servant and His Messenger. Peace be upon him, his descendants, his companions, the righteous servants, all of them, and upon us in America and throughout the world:

We thank Allah for this religion (AM slam) and for taking the burdens off our minds—off our spiritual minds. We thank Allah for this religion that has made it possible for our spirit and our intellect to come together in some kind of peaceful state so that the human being will be at peace with himself and at peace with Allah.

Allah's gift to us was the Quran. He used Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Before Prophet Muhammad, the human being called himself two separate entities, one spirit, and the other human. It was because of the revelation of this Quran that human beings came to see themselves as one entity and to see the spiritual life as an aspect of the human life. They came to see the intellectual life as an aspect of the human life. They came to see the human being as one entity.

We came to know that the intellect is also a creation of God. And that the human intellect will find its happiness when it comes to faith, when it has faith in God. When it puts faith in God above intellect, faith above logic—when the human being comes to that state of obedience to God, then the intellect has come to the right order for getting blessings from God.

When the intellect can accept that kind of relationship— complete service, faithful to his God—then the intellect and the human spirituality, the human soul embrace each other and become one as they were created to be by Almighty God. Then with intellect and soul working together, obeying God, God evolves them both to higher and higher achievements in this world.

This is the great blessing Jesus was a sign of: that reconciliation was coming, agreement between the soul and the intellect was coming. In Prophet Muhammad it was fulfilled— agreement between soul and intellect.

Dearly beloved brothers and sisters, this is a wonderful religion, so wonderful that your minds can understand. Even the greatest Imam we have can't see how wonderful this religion is. He can only know it within his limits. Don't underestimate this religion; this religion is bigger than anything that has ever been created.

Didn't God promise the people of the Tora and the people of the Gospel that he will send a Deliverer that will relieve them of the heavy yokes, take the heavy yokes off their minds, relieve them of the oppression, take the heavy yokes off their necks and backs? Prophet Muhammad is the answer. Others only pointed to the coming of that. Jesus was a sign of the coming of that. Prophet Muhammad is the answer.

With Prophet Muhammad came social justice, social equality, liberty for the intellect. Not for the intellect of a select few—not liberty for the intellect of the leadership, but liberty for the intellect of all people.

The most common person had opportunity to learn and become the Imam of the prophets caliphate on the Prophets Deen. The smallest person had the freedom to come into the knowledge and grow in the knowledge—he wasn't held back because of the lack of material means. Those Muslims with the means were told to spend on those who don't have the means, to give them education like you have. Give them food, clothes and shelter like you have given your children, and give them education that you give your own children.

Through Prophet Muhammad social justice came; equality, freedom and justice came, and the liberation of the human mind. Slavery was put to an end and persons who were enslaved became leaders over the society, generals in the army and leaders in the religion.

Slaves led free men in battle and in public. It was a former slave, Bilal, who Prophet Muhammad had leading the prayer. If you have a light, take it to the top of the house—isn't that what the Bible says? Don't hide it under a bushel.

Who did Prophet Muhammad send to the top of the house, on the top of the Kaabah—the Holy House that's the center for all people? He told Bilal to go up to the top of the Kaabah and make the Adhan. Bilal, a former slave, a black man from Ethiopia, fulfilled that part of the scripture.

Here is the answer. The people would go on the mountain top and shine the light—La-illaha-il-lallah, Muhammadan Rasulul-lah, Hayya Allal-Salat, Hayya Allal-Salat, it is not yesterday, it is Muhammad's day; the people of Prophet Muhammad will not hide their light. They carry their candle to the top of the house and let the whole world see—La-illaha-il-lallah, Muhammadan Rasulul-lah, we don't ring a bell that nobody can interpret—we don't talk in secrecy. We give it in a plain human voice out from the minaret. Minaret—light tower—knowledge is light—even the word tells you its a light tower.

Who goes up in the light tower? Bilal, human beings go up into the light tower, not hiding anything, and say to the public Allah-u-Akbar, La illaha-il-lalah, Muhammadan Rasulul-lah! The people are to have cultivation in their lives: Hayya Allal-Salat, come and cultivate the spiritual life; Hayya Allal-Falah, come and cultivate the social life, the community life. Build up the spiritual life, build up the community life; speaking this in the open, a living testimony and a fulfillment of the written scripture that says they will not hide their light but will go up on top of the house.

This is the religion of social justice. This is the religion of true liberation. This religion liberates their mind, brings justice back to the oppressed, kills inequality. You can't practice inequality and be a Muslim.

This is the religion for us and for all people. Once we realize it we will become missionaries—all of us. Even if you have 40 hours a week jobs, that's no excuse. You still can take some of that time and become missionaries for Al-Islam.

Allah is the perfect being. Allah is all righteous, truthful -- no imperfections in Allah. Allah is Supreme and Perfect without any imperfections.

O Allah. Make us of those who purify themselves and of those who repent, and guide us in your path. Amen.

Peace be to you
Your brother in service to Allah,
Wallace Deen Muhammad
