In upcoming issues. A.M. Journal will print these questions and Imam W. Deen Muhammad's timely responses.
QUESTION: How does it feel to be a leader of a society? — Talif Saafir (age 10-12)
WDM: It's really wonderful. It makes me feel good, being a leader of the American Muslim Mission membership.
It’s really wonderful, especially when you hear that the people who are not members of the American Muslim Mission are also regarding you as their leader.
You have to understand that many people who are not Muslims identify with what we're doing. They like what the Muslims are doing in the membership of the AMM and when they meet me in the street -- Chicago and different places — many of them tell me...Imam Muhammad, you're my leader, too.
They are not Muslim — it's a very good feeling to know that what we represent is accepted by more people than ourselves. |
