Imam W. Deen Muhammad Delivers Eid Khutbah At Mccormick Place

Imam W. Deen Muhammad

Bismillahir-Rahmanir-Raheem As-Salaam-Alaikum

Dear Muslims, on this great day of celebration and joy, the blessed Eid, we would like to recall the blessings of God to us as Muslims — the gift of Muhammad who was a mercy to all humanity. Peace and blessings be upon Muhammad, the last and seal of the Prophets.

We praise Allah, and thank Allah, for him.

We recall on this day, the great gift of revelation to that Prophet — the Quran that was revealed in the Month of Ramadan. We praise and thank Allah, for His word and His mercy to the believers and for the benefit that non-believers have also derived from this Quran and from the teachings of our Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

WE RECALL this great Eid, this great celebration — as it has been called a recurring happiness for the believers — with humility, with thanksgiving, with true reverence for God, and we pray that He will keep the Muslims united, and bless the Muslims to regain the great place we once had as a community following the Sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH).

Dear beloved Muslims, Allah Most High says to us often in the Quran that we should be foremost with the resurgence of the true spirit of Al-Islam in the Muslims of the world today; after centuries of domination by foreign powers, we can expect that this process will be working and Muslims will be getting themselves involved in all that is useful to man and approved by God. And that this community that is of followers of Muhammad (PBUH) will again be leaders and be foremost — not only in devotion to Allah in prayer, etc., but also in the sciences and in everything that is useful to man.

This, according to the Word of God, in the Quran and according to the teachings of the Prophet, is the place for Muslims in the world — they must have the foremost position in the world.

He says to us that if we would follow in the tradition and in the manner of those great, great men who followed the Prophet — his companions, in the manner of the Mu-jahaddin and the Ansar — that He will give us a "Paradise, under which rivers flow, to abide therein forever, and that is the greatest of rewards."

Allahu-Akbar. Allahu-Akbar. Allahu-Akbar.
La-illaha-illalah.
Allahu-Akbar. Allahu-Akbar.
Wa-lillah-il-hamd.

HOW OFTEN in the Quran, does Allah the Most High, say to the Muslims, fear God and also struggle hard?

God has required of the Muslims that they be active, that they take the initiative, that we not be idle, that we not be lazy, that we not be selfish, and (not) go on our own and leave a great percentage of the Muslim world stagnant -- that we all go forward together.

Praise be to Allah, who has revealed the message complete, as a healing for that which is in our hearts, and has given us Muhammad as the most excellent example. We pray that God bestow upon him forever, the blessings He promised to him.

Bismillahir-Rahmanir-Raheem.
Your community is one united community, and Allah says, He is our Lord, so we should worship Him only.

God has obligated us, as followers of Muhammad (PBUH), to hold to this community and follow the Sunnah of the Prophet, and to advocate and promote what the Prophet established — by the will and guidance of God — and to call to goodness, to that which is useful and good, and to forbid and prohibit all that is bad and unbecoming of us. And God has said, those who do that will certainly be successful.

This is clear guidance for the people, for humanity — evidence for humanity and clear guidance — and warnings for the God fearing.

DO NOT BECOME weary, do not despair, for you are destined to achieve prominence if you are indeed believers.

This religion is the religion of hope, the religion of action; it is not the religion of pessimism, it is the religion of optimism, hope, firmness, strong faith, belief, determination to obey Allah and all that He has ordered, and to obey His Messenger in all that he has guided us in — determination to meet every challenge in the world, and not back off any single challenge. To meet the challenge of the disbelievers; to meet the challenge of the atheists; to meet the challenge of the socialists, the communists — to meet any challenge.

Allah, Most High says to us that the believers are ordered by God to be patient, to have fortitude, to not weaken and break down under temptation or pressure. He has ordered the believers to persevere, to move forward still, in spite of bad conditions, and to fear Him and to reverence Him alone, that we may be successful.

God said to the Prophet: And say, O Prophet, the truth has come and falsehood perishes, and falsehood was ever destined to perish.

Allahu-Akbar! Allahu-Akbar! Allahu-Akbar!
La-illaha-illa-lah!
Allahu-Akbar! Allahu-Akbar!
Wa-lillah-il-hamd.
Al-humdulillah ir Rabbil Al-Amin.

Our community wishes to extend the greetings, the Eid greetings to all of our Muslim brothers who are here from the different communities of M uslims in Chicago, and in the area. We extend to you, Eid Said Mubarak, and we pray Allah blesses all of us with a great and blessed, joyful day.

As-Salaamu-Alaikum, wa Rahmatullah, wa Barakatu
